TARGETED AUDIENCE: Training Officers, Facilitators, anyone who intends to become a trainer.

DESCRIPTION

Training is the process of teaching, or developing oneself or others, on any knowledge and skill that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific goals of improving one’s capability, capacity, productivity and performance. This program is designed to expose participants to the entire training function, learn how to design modules, curriculum, content, purpose and assessment, planning and preparation, presentation and facilitation and deliver high impact training. In addition, participants will learn the difference between training, workshops, facilitation and giving presentations and how to incorporate more activity, variety, and direction into training in order to give a powerful delivery.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • Explore the principles behind adult learning
  • Learn how to select appropriate training method based on the learning objectives;
  • Learn how to sequence and pace training methods
  • Identify individuals training style and preferences for the styles
  • Identify how training styles relates to the five adult learning steps
  • Create an action plan to enhance your training styles
  • Learn options for obtaining immediate participation
  • Apply the steps for improving instruction
  • Develop skill in promoting active(action) learning
  • Identify strategies that ensures retention and on-the-job application of training modules
  • Learn technical training methods to promote recall and application
